Summary: In recent years, with a continuous increase in the number of college students in China, the limits to the campus land use and the needs for improved functions have become more and more paradoxical, especially for traditional campuses. The problems caused by this issue are acute. The research and practice of campus renewal for time-honoured campuses, such as Peking University (PKU), are of great significance for both its renewal and reconstruction.
